Historic
Lutherville
The
history
of Lutherville began in 1852 when two ministers purchased a piece of
land north of Towson to build a Lutheran seminary. The town was named
after Martin Luther, the founder of the Lutheran church.
Lutherville's
historic area is a registered historic district, and lies in the area
north of Seminary Avenue and west of York Road.
